Bio-Food Grade Products

BPL™ Food Grade Bio-Penetrating Lubricant™, H1, H2

A specially formulated, biodegradable biobased penetrant that can be used as a light lubricant in food processing equipment and is essentially odorless and tasteless. Because of the super high viscosity index of the Stabilized HOBS, this product performs in many applications. BPL™'s patented composition of additives and base fluids provides a protective, thin film lubricant. This natural oily film has shown in laboratory and field tests to out perform petroleum base oils in terms of natural lubricity.

BPL™ Food Grade is formulated to penetrate into close tolerant areas, then lubricate, and prevent corrosion. BPL™'s ability to creep is demonstrated by placing a 3/8" x 2" bolt on its head with 1/4" of BPL™ in the bottom of a lab beaker; BPL™ creeps vertically up the threads. It protects deep into the core of a cable or chain link and is excellent as a light air tool lubricant and preservative oil for parts. This Biobased product has exceptional benefits over petroleum oils in these applications because there is direct danger of polluting the water, soil, or work environment through loss of the lubricant. BPL™ contains no hazardous volatile organic compounds (VOCs), EPA, OHSA, and Workers Acceptance is high with Biobased Products.

Bio-Food Grade™ Hydraulic Fluids (ISO 32, 46, 68 and 100) H1, H2

Bio-Food Grade™ Hydraulic Fluids are multi-functional biobased lubricants that contain ingredients which are "Generally Regarded as Safe" (GRAS) for food possessing equipment. These Fluids are formulated to perform in hydraulic systems and gear drives that require Anti-Wear (AW), anti-rust, anti-oxidation, anti-foam, and demulsibility properties. They are highly inhibited against moisture and rusting in both fresh and sea water and pass both A and B Sequences of the ASTM D-665 Turbine Oil Rust Test. Incorporating the super high viscosity index of the Stabilized High Oleic Base Stocks (HOBS) into the formula, increases the viscosity index past synthetic levels (Energy Conserving Formulas). They can be used in environmentally sensitive areas such as in agriculture, marine, and food possessing plants.

Bio-Food Grade™ Hydraulic Fluids are designed for use in vane, piston, and gear-type pumps and have shown to have excellent anti-wear performance in ASTM D-4172. The anti-wear performance meets and exceeds the requirements for Vickers M-2950-S (35VQ-25) and 1-286-S (V-104C), Rexroth, US Steel 126, 136, and 127, and DIN 51524 Part 2. They also meet the requirements for ashless GL-1 and GL-2 gear oils in reduction units and gear sets. (Use Viscosity Sufficient For OEM Application)

The super high viscosity index of the HOBS naturally improves the thermal shear stability of the formula and increases load capacity, The HOBS's extremely low volatility increases the flash and fire safety features in the formula.

Applications With Incidental Food Contact In and Around Food Processing Equipment Areas Hydraulic systems, gear drives, gearhead motors, drip oilers, air-oilers, air-tools, water pumps, bearings, machine oil, roller chains, cables, circulating oil, etc., and general lubrication. These products may also be used in reduction units where original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) require an R & O lubricant (i.e. AFNOR NFE 48-600 HL, DIN 51524 Part 1, and Denison HF-1 fluids).

Bio-Food Grade™ Gear Oils (ISO 32-460) H1, H2

Bio-Food Grade™ Gear Oils are for gear drives and right angle gear drives commonly used in food processing equipment; essentially odorless and tasteless. These gear sets do not require Hypoid level of EP and because of this the lubricants most commonly specified by makers of these gear reducers are R & O or GL-3 type circulating oils. ISO Viscosity Grades 32, 46, 68, and 220 meet and exceeds "Military Specifications DOD-L-24651 Lubricating Oils, Food Grade, and Food Processing Equipment." This specification is approved for use by the Departments and Agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense. ISO Viscosity Grades 32, 46 and 68 meet DOD-L-24651 Type I and ISO Viscosity Grade 220 Meet DOD-L-24651 Type II for general purpose and gear oil lubricants. This specification also requires a rating of USDA H-1 for incidental food contact.

Patented formulas have improved performance over conventional products in terms of oxidation, thermal shear, and fluid film (viscosity index). This super high viscosity index allows these products to be energy conserving in the startup mode and provide improved load protection, reducing wear during operation. They are highly inhibited against moisture and rusting in both fresh and sea water and passes both A and B Sequences of the ASTM D-665 Turbine Oil Rust Test. These products also provide double the oxidation stability over the US Steel 127 test requirement of 125 minutes and shows excellent performance in ASTM D-1401 Turbine Oil Demulsibility with a rating of 40/40/0 in ten minutes.

Bio-Food Grade™ Gear Oils have combined Stabilized technology with HOBS and food grade mild EP/anti-wear additives that exceed the load stage 10 in the FZG (DIN5 1354) requirements for both turbine oils and reduction gears. The results are patented Food Grade products which have long life and heat stability. Additionally, they offer the protection advantages of the mild EP and antiwear of an API "GL-3" type gear lube.

Bio-Extreme™ High Temperature Oven Lubricants (ISO 46, 68, 100, 150, 220)

Bio-Extreme™ High Temperature Oven Lubricants are unique biobased food grade lubricants fortified with synthetic food grade white graphite. This synthetic white graphite will lubricate at extreme high temperatures up to and over 1000°C with intermittent lubrication up to 2000°C and will provide a cleaner lubricating solid film (off-white to white) after the base oils cleanly dissipates. The products are formulated in different viscosities to provide proper penetration and then lubricate with the solid film into links, pins and rollers of different size chains. These products are free of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and provide an auto ignition temperature (ASTM D-659) of over 371°C. In addition, the products provide improved extreme pressure and lubricity after black graphite, Teflon, and molybdenum disulfide lose their lubrication between 400°C and 500°C. At the lower temperatures (below the flash points) these Bio-Extreme High Temperature Oven Lubricants do not dissipate, but leave a soft semi-solid to solid film on the lubricated surface of the links, pins and rollers. (See proper directions for using Bio-Extreme High Temperature Oven Lubricants.)
